Let's Go For a Hike!

Hiking has become a weekend tradition. Two weeks ago we headed to Marin to hike the Blithedale Trail. We followed our hike with lunch at a cute spot in downtown Mill Valley, sitting on the patio and enjoying the sun. Yesterday we hiked in the Marin Headlands. The four and a half mile hike was 90% uphill and 100% awesome. Unfortunately, we forgot the camera, but our mental memories and the soreness we're feeling today are memory enough!

Jackpot!

Because dog treats and supplies are typically cheaper online, and because they're a lot cheaper than in San Francisco, I placed a big order for Scout last week. She was so excited, she jumped right into the box and started digging around.

Fort Funston Fun

We went to Fort Funston last weekend, and it has to be one of the most beautiful places in San Francisco. We walked along the bluffs above the ocean and then dropped down to the beach. Scout had a grand old time chasing birds and an old tennis ball she found. Again, not loving the bath that inevitably comes after a beach visit, but she thinks it's worth it. Come visit and we'll take you!

A Visit from GM and GP

Scott's parents came out for a visit and we had a great time. Highlights included record-breaking tours, covering over 20 neighborhoods in one day, a day in Napa, a beautiful hike, and lots of fun with the Wii. We can't wait until GM and GP come back!

Sleepy Saturday

I have a bit of a stomach bug, so today was a pretty mellow day. I went to the vet this morning and am feeling much better. As a result, we had a mellow Saturday, with the exception of a brisk walk to and romp in the park.

Collar Queen

So...I kind of have a lot of collars. My daddy is really obsessed with them, he likes changing them frequently, based on the weather and his mood. Who knew he was such a stylish guy? Which is your favorite?

Half Moon Bay

On the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, Aunt Jessie, Uncle Todd, daddy, mommy, and I loaded up the car and headed to Half Moon Bay, where it was beautiful and warm. I loved frolicking on the beach and even tried to dig to China. On the way home, I got cuddles from Aunt Jessie and Uncle Todd!

Check out my digging skills! http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-400612559575455112

Bon Voyage Bailey (and Daveen and Steph)

On Wednesday, Rob, Daveen, Steph, and Bailey came over for dinner. Daveen, Steph, and Bailey moved to Hong Kong yesterday and we were so sad to see them go. Bailey is one of Scout's oldest friends. They first bonded at HBS and were excited to see each other again.

Scout's First Trip to the Beach

Poor Scout. She's not totally in love with city living yet, so last week I treated her to a wild romp on the beach. Her only water exposure thus far has been Minneapolis' many lakes, so it was fun to see her react to the big, bad ocean. To say she loved it would be an understatement. She dashed in and out of the waves, sniffed every shell she encountered, and dug in the sand. Racing up and down the beach, she was in dog heaven. Can't say the same for the bath she had to take upon our return...unfortunately, she still hates them.

Scout is very thoughtful and tries to clean herself off, so as not to dirty daddy's car! http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6456288807900182011

Scout's Stories: A dog's blog

Hi everyone. So since we've made our move to San Francisco, which is going well, by the way, we've been thinking about a way to share Scout's new adventures with all of her family and friends. This seemed like the easiest way, so here we are. Can't promise that it'll be updated frequently, and it ain't fancy, but at least we won't clog your inboxes with videos and pics of our girl. Enjoy!
